WIDOW OF RICHARD CROKER SAYS SHE IS IN "SPIRITUALISTIC CONTACT" WITH LATE HUSBAND
New York City (JFK+50) On November 17, 1924, the Associated Press reports that Mrs. Bula Edmondson Croker says that she has been "in spiritualistic communication with her husband," the late chief of Tammany Hall*, Richard Croker.**
Mrs. Croker, having arrived here in New York City from Ireland today, also says that her husband's spirit comes to her "most often" in Ireland, where "things (are) more tranquil and peaceful."

Tammany Hall began to lose power with the election of FDR in 1932. Because it did not support FDR's election as POTUS, he reduced its stature to that of a county political organization.
*Tammany Hall, incorporated in 1789, as the Tammany Society was the main local political machine of the Democratic Party, controlling New York State & New York City politics from the 1850s through the 1960s.
**Richard Welstead Croker (1843-1922) was born in County Cork, Ireland & came to the United States at age 2. RWC became the leader (Grand Sachem) of New York City's Tammany Hall.
