WOODROW WILSON CALLS SENATOR REED A 'MARPLOT'
St. Louis, Missouri (JFK+50) On May 8, 1922 a letter written by former POTUS Woodrow Wilson referring to U.S. Senator James A Reed* (D-Missouri) as a 'marplot**,' was made public.
Mr. Wilson wants the Senator defeated in the Missouri Democratic Primary to be held on August 1st.
For his part, Senator Reed has called the former President "the boy who is conducting the campaign in Missouri for the other side."
*James Alexander Reed (1861-1944) was born in Richland County, Ohio & moved to Kansas City in 1887 & served as mayor 1904-1906. JAR served as U.S. Senator 1911-1929.
**marplot is one who frustrates or ruins a plan or undertaking by meddling.
