PRESIDENT TO BE INVESTED WITH 33RD DEGREE OF MASONRY

Cleveland, Ohio (JFK+50) On September 20, 1922, it was decided that President Warren G. Harding will be invested with the Thirty-third degree of Masonry, the highest attainable honor of The Scottish Rite*.

The Evening Star reports that "an extraordinary conclave of the Supreme Council of the Thirty-third Degree of Northern Masonic jurisdiction" will be held here in Cleveland later in the year to honor Mr. Harding.

Former Vice-President Thomas R. Marshall made the motion "to convene the extraordinary session at a date decided by the President."

*The Scottish Rite, an offshoot of Freemasonry, offers 33 degrees.  The highest degree is bestowed only on those who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Brotherhood.
