POPE PIUS CONDEMNS 'MORAL LAXITY' OF ALL CLASSES
Rome (JFK+50) On Christmas Eve 1922, Pope Pius XI* "severely condemned the moral laxity which...runs through all classes." The Pope was also critical of the violence associated with the world war as well as the "fictitious peace written on paper."
The Pontiff also deplores immodesty in women and girls as well as "unseemly" dancing. He blames class struggles for the "loosening of social ties."
