SOVIET PREMIER JOSEPH STALIN DIES
Moscow (JFK+50) On March 5, 1953, Soviet premier Joseph Stalin* died of a stroke here in Moscow. He was 74 years old.
The premier's body was embalmed and preserved in a mausoleum in Moscow's Red Square until 1961. The remains were then transferred to the walls of the Kremlin.

*JosephVissavionavich Stalin (1878-1953) was born in the Russian Empire & served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1924-1953.
Under his 5 year Plan, the USSR underwent agriculture collectivism. JCS's idea adhered to the Leninist interpretation of Marxism, a.k.a. Marxist-Leninist philosophy.
