"NO MORE IMPORTANT MATTER FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS"

HARDING SAYS UNNECESSARY COST OF GOVERNMENT MUST BE PREVENTED 

Minneapolis, Minnesota (JFK+50) On June 8, 1923, The Alaska Daily Empire reports that President Warren G. Harding has "declared...every possible means be employed to prevent an unnecessary cost of government."

The President's declaration appeared in a letter to the Secretary of the League of Minnesota Municipalities*, M. B. Lambie.

The President wrote...

"There is no more important matter confronting the public officials anywhere than the enforcement of the utmost measures of economy consistent with good administration."
