VISITORS TO NEW YORK VISIT WTC OBSERVATORY ON SEPT 10 2001 & AGREE TO MEET BACK THERE AT 8:45 SEPT 11
New York City (JFK+50) On September 10, 2001, 25 years ago today, Levan Kuz of Winnipeg joined a woman from Eastern Europe on a visit to the observation deck of the World Trade Center*.
It was late in the afternoon when they got their tickets and took the elevator to the deck. A storm hit during the time they were there so they agreed to meet the next morning at 8:45 for another try.
Fortunately, they were both late.
Mr. Kuz donated his September 10 ticket to the WTC Memorial & Museum in 2009. He said...
"This is a piece of history. I think it belongs in other people's hands."
JFK+50 NOTE
At 8:46 AM American Airlines Flight 11, Boston to LA, taken over by Islamic terrorists, crashed into the North Tower of WTC. At 9:03 AM United Airlines Flight 175, Boston to LA, also taken over by terrorists, crashed into the South Tower of WTC. This was only the beginning of one of the worst tragedies in the history of the United States.
*The Indoor Observation Deck was on the 107th floor of 2 World Trade Center, also known as the South Tower. Because the observation deck was not open until 9:30 a.m. there was no one on the deck at the time of the terrorist attacks.
