THE PINK HOUSE

Charleston, South Carolina (JFK+50) We are vacationing in downtown Charleston, South Carolina for the next few days.

This city has so many beautiful houses, but perhaps the most unique of them all is "THE PINK HOUSE" located at 17 Chalmers Street.

The house was built in the 1690s out of 'Bermuda stone' which has a natural pink cast.

The roof is made of original terra cotta tile.

When The Pink House opened for business it served as an ale & coffee house primary catering to sailors.

Today the house displays fine paintings.
