MRS. ENDICOTT WILLS HER SADDLE HORSE $5000
Columbus, Georgia (JFK+50) On Friday, December 16, 1921, the Evening Star published a front page story informing readers that Mrs. Katherine Endicott, who perished in an automobile accident a day earlier, had willed her "little black saddle horse" $5000 for "sugar, apples and other things for the comfort of the animal."
Mrs. Endicott, wife of Lt. Col. Endicott, had ridden "Chappie" for eight years. Her husband, according to the Star, plans as administrator of the will "to follow her instructions."
"Chappie is assured a life of luxury for several years."
