"U.S. & GERMANY TO BE INVITED TO COMMISSION"

SCHEME FOR RESTORATION OF EUROPE & RUSSIA PROPOSED

London (JFK+50) On December 22, 1921, the Associated Press reported that "the allied Supreme Council* at its coming meeting in Cannes will be asked to appoint a commission to elaborate a comprehensive scheme for the rehabilitation of central Europe and Russia."

The United States and Germany will both be invited to be members on this commission.  To date, it is unknown if Russia will also be invited.

 *Supreme War Council was created by agreement between Britain, France & Italy in Nov 1917 to watch over the general conduct of the war & prepare recommendations for the decisions of the governments.
