*The Library of Congress is a research library which officially served the U.S. Congress. It is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States.
LOC is housed in 3 buildings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. It is one of the largest libraries in the world holding 171 million items including 32 million books & a variety of printed materials.
JFK+50 NOTE
We were unsuccessful in attempts to find biographical information on Mrs. Woods or Mr. Averill. Perhaps the office of superintendent of the Congressional Library Building, a.k.a. Library of Congress, is not considered so important, at least in the world of Google?
