PRESIDENTIAL PARTY TO RECEIVE GALA WELCOME IN ST. LOUIE
St. Louis, Missouri (JFK+50) President Warren G. Harding is expected here in St. Louis later today, June 21, 1923, "the first scheduled stop of his projected 15,000 miles tour."
The President will be welcomed by a committee headed by Missouri Governor Arthur Hyde* who will also accompany the presidential party on the tour.
The Associated Press reports...
"The city is in gala attire for the visit of the President. Thousands...are expected to pack the Coliseum to hear the Chief Executive speak."
*Arthur Mastick Hyde (1877-1947) was born in Princeton, Missouri & graduated from the University of Michigan & University of Iowa Law School. AMH served as governor of Missouri 1921-1925 & as Secretary of Agriculture 1929-1933.
