RADIO TRANSMISSION FROM U.S. RECEIVED IN FRANCE
Hyattsville, Maryland (JFK+50) On April 12, 1925, The Sunday Star reports that "Europe has been reached by underground and undersea radio."
Dr. James Harris Rogers*, whose laboratory is located here in Hyattsville, announced today that a message transmitted from his radio station has been received in Toulon, France.
The underground/undersea transmission was not subject to the fading and static which accompanies over-the-air transmissions.
*Dr. James Harris Rogers was inventor of the multiplex telegraph print machines & was a pioneer in underground & undersea radio transmissions.
JHR helped the U.S. Navy in WWI with underwater radio transmissions from submarines. His laboratory was located in Hyattsville, Maryland.
