MARILYN MONROE FOUND DEAD IN CALIFORNIA APARTMENT
Brentwood, California (JFK+50) On the evening of August 5, 1962, actress Marilyn Monroe* died in the bedroom of her apartment here in Brentwood.
According to history.com/, the body of Miss Monroe was found "lying nude on her bed...with a telephone in one hand (and) empty bottles of pills...littered around the room.
She was found by her psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson**, who had been alerted by Eunice Murray, the housekeeper, who could not get the apartment door open.
The death was to be ruled a "probable suicide" from a drug overdose, but their remains some controversy concerning that ruling.
JFK+50 NOTE
Although Marilyn Monroe was found dead at 3:45 a.m. on August 5, the coroner later ruled death occurred between 9:30 and 11:30 pm on August 4, 1962.
*Marilyn Monore, aka Norma Jean Baker, (1926-1962) was born in Los Angeles, California & became a professional model at age 19. She starred in several films including "Niagara," "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", and "Bus Stop."
**Ralph Greenson (1911-1979) was born in New York City, American psychiatrist who was educated at Columbia University & treated WWII soldiers suffering from traumatic stress.
