KLAN RESOLUTION PROPOSES U.S. ADOPT 'HANDS-OFF' POLICY ON MEXICO'S 'RELIGIOUS TROUBLE'
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On September 15, 1926, a resolution was proposed at the closing session of the Third Biennial Convention of the Ku Klux Klan held here in the Nation's Capital.
The resolution calls for a "hands-off" policy by the government of the United States on Mexico's "religious trouble."
The resolution proposal was greeted by "thunderous applause" and is expected to be adopted without opposition.
According to the Evening Star, the resolution authorizes Imperial Wizard Hiram Wesley Evans* to appoint a special committee to present the resolution to Secretary of State Frank B. Kellogg.

In September 1926, a violent conflict known as the Cristero War broke out in Mexico between the government and the Catholic church.
*Hiram Wesley Evans (1881-1966) was born in Ashland, Alabama & graduated at the school of dentistry, Vanderbilt University. HWE became a white supremacist & Imperial Wizard of the KKK 1923-1939.
