'JFK 50 YEARS LATER' PHOTO EXHIBIT COMING TO NORTH LITTLE ROCK

North Little Rock, Arkansas (JFK+50) A photography exhibition titled 'JFK 50 Years Later' is scheduled to be displayed next month here in North Little Rock.

The exhibit, in honor of the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's death, will be presented at the Argenta Arts District galleries & exhibition space March 25 through March 30, 2013.

According to Natalie Ghidotti, the photographs encompass many facets of JFK's life & career including "family, early years in politics, critical issues...of the times, & his Presidency."

Many of the photographs come from Arthur Rickerby*, a Kennedy administration photographer.

*Arthur B. Rickerby (1921-1972), born in New York City, was hired by Life Magazine in 1961 to cover the Kennedy administration.  He pioneered use of the 35mm camera & the zoom lens.  Mr. Rickerby died in Danbury, Connecticut.

 John Rogers, owner of the photographs & Rogers Photo Archive has partnered with the North Little Rock Argenta Arts District** for the JFK exhibit.

The Rogers Photo Archive of more than 140 million images is the "largest privately owned collection of photographs."

The mission of RPA is "to help educate the public about the history & significance of photographic imagery by capturing the spirit of our nation in a visually unique way."

According to the RPA website...

"There is no other company that can restore, scan & digitally organize entire archives on a no-cost basis to the publications, institutions & photographers who own them."

A film has also been created to be shown at the exhibit.  It was created by Craig Renaud, executive director of the Little Rock Film Festival.
