5 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS HELD ON 5TH OF NOVEMBER

Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) The month of November is notable for holding elections for the office of President of the United States.  To date there have been a total of 5 presidential elections held on the 5th day of November.

The first was the re-election of Ulysses S. Grant (Republican) in 1796 and the last was the re-election of William J. "Bill" Clinton (Democrat) in 1996.  Following is the list of November 5th presidential elections and winners.

1872      Ulysses S. Grant          Republican
1912      Woodrow Wilson        Democrat
1940      FDR                                  Democrat
1968      Richard Nixon              Republican
1996      Bill Clinton                    Democrat

Woodrow Wilson was re-elected in 1916 while FDR was elected to an unprecedented 3rd term in 1940 and 4th term in 1944.  Richard Nixon was re-elected in 1972 although he resigned in 1974.

How successful, or should I say unsuccessful, were these POTUS according to a recent poll of historians who rated the presidents (Washington to Obama) from worst to best?
