*LOOK was a bi-weekly magazine founded by Mike & John Cowles, Jr. in Des Moines, Iowa. LOOK was the major competitor of LIFE magazine. Its first issue sold more than 700,000 copies. From 1946 to 1970 LOOK published the Football Writers Association of America's All-American Football team.
**Aaron Stanley Tretick (1921-1999) was born in Baltimore & raised in Washington, D.C. He covered presidents from Truman to George H.W. Bush & is best known for his photos for the 1960 presidential campaign. AST worked for UPI, Look & People magazines.
