JFK AND BILLY GRAHAM
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) Rev. Billy Graham* and John F. Kennedy met for the last time at the National Day of Prayer Breakfast at the U.S. Capitol in February 1963. The President asked Mr. Graham to return with him to the White House. The world renown evangelist had to decline the invitation because he had the flu. Billy Graham later referred to it as an "irrecoverable moment."
Douglas Mize defines an irrecoverable moment as failing to take "every opportunity to share the love of Christ." He adds, "today is an irrecoverable moment for all of us."
*William Franklin Graham, Jr. (1918-2018) was born in Charlotte, NC & became one of the most influential preachers of the 20th Century. WFG attended Florida Bible Institute & Wheaton College. He was the spiritual adviser of POTUS from Truman to Obama.
