POTUS #41, GEORGE H.W. BUSH DIES

Houston, Texas (JFK+50) George Herbert Walker Bush*, 41st President of the United States, died here in Houston last night, November 30,2018, at the age of 94. The former POTUS had suffered from a form of Parkinson's disease and had been hospitalized on and off over the past several years.
Mr. Bush's aide of fifty years and former Secretary of State James A. Baker described him as "the most successful one term president..." President Bush is also the "last of the World War II generation to occupy the Oval Office."
Lt. Bush was on a bombing mission on September 2, 1944 when his plane was hit by Japanese anti-aircraft fire. He was part of a squadron flying over the island of Chi Chi Jima when the incident occurred. He was able to fly back to the vicinity of his aircraft carrier where he bailed out into the sea. After floating on a raft for four hours, Bush was rescued.
President Donald J. Trump has declared the day of President Bush's funeral, December 5, 2018, to be a National Day of Mourning. The former president will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol and will be buried in Houston.

*George H.W. Bush (1924-2018) was born in Milton, Massachusetts & graduated from Yale University. He would serve 40 years in public service. He was a member of Congress for 2 terms, Ambassador to the UN, Director of the CIA, VPOTUS & POTUS 1989-1993. He & wife Barbara were the parents of George W. Bush, the 43rd POTUS.
