KENNEDY CAN & HE WILL

"IF ANYBODY CAN, KENNEDY CAN"

Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On January 7, 1960, music and lyrics for a new campaign song for Senator John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts were released titled "If Anybody Can Kennedy Can."

The song was copyrighted in 1959 by Vince Rago Publishing Company of Wilmington, Delaware.  Vince Rago* owned and managed the company from 1961 to 1968.  His label offered soul, doo-wop, pop, rock, psychedelic artists from the Delaware Valley.

The new JFK campaign song was also known by the title "Kennedy Can Can."
The lyrics include the following words...

"Yeah Man, Yes Mam
Ken-Kennedy Can

Chorus

If anybody can
Kennedy can
Kennedy can
Kennedy can

If anybody can
Kennedy can
Kennedy can
And he will."

*Vince Rago was a tough businessman. Representing Richie Records in negotiating with a band to promote a new record titled "All Souled Out," Mr. Rago "demanded upfront money" and when he didn't get it, the record was not released.  Vinney Rago, Jr. stated that the "old masters from his father's company were either lost or tossed out."
