UNCLE TED WALKS SWEET CAROLINE DOWN THE AISLE

KENNEDY-SCHOLOSSBERG WEDDING AT CENTERVILLE

Centerville, Massachusetts (JFK+50) On July 19, 1986, the daughter of President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy, Caroline Bouvier Kennedy*married Edwin Scholossberg** at Our Lady of Victory Church here in Centerville.

The matron of honor was Caroline's cousin, Maria Shriver, and her uncle, Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, walked her down the aisle.  Caroline's mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, planned the event.

The bride wore a beautiful white gown designed by Carolina Herrera.  The bodice, according to About.com, was covered with embroidered shamrocks.
Caroline wore a tulle veil and carried a bouquet of orchids.  Her earrings were a gift from her father to her mother.

There were 7 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls and 10 ushers.  The reception following the service was held on the lawn of the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port.  The 400 guests were entertained by singer Carly Simon.  

*Caroline Bouvier Kennedy was born in New York City on November 27, 1957.  She was 3 years old when her father was sworn in as POTUS and 6 when he was killed.  CBK earned her B.A. degree at Radcliffe College at Harvard in 1980 and her law degree from Columbia Law School in 1988.

**Dr. Edwin Arthur Scholossberg was born in New York City on July 19, 1945.  He was the child of Jewish immigrants from the Ukraine.  He earned degrees at Columbia University.  EAS founded ESI Design.
