"THE DECISIVE MOMENT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TOTALITARIANISM IN EUROPE"

100TH ANNIVERSARY OF HISTORIC BATTLE OF WARSAW

Warsaw, Poland (JFK+50)  Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's* article on the importance of the August 1920 Battle of Warsaw** was published in multiple world sources yesterday.

The PM called the battle a "Node point, which defines the further course of events" of Poland and Europe.  He describes the  two week long battle as the "decisive moment in the fight against totalitarianism in Europe."

Lord Edgar Vincent d'Abernon includes the Battle of Warsaw on his list of the most important battles in world history. 

*Mateusz Jakub Morawiecki was born in Wroclaw, Poland in 1968 & educated at the University of Hamburg 1995-1997.  MJM became an economist, historian & Prime Minister of Poland in December 2017.

**Battle of Warsaw, a.k.a. "Miracle of the Vistula", was a series of battles fought in Poland from August 12 through 25, 1920 as part of the Polish-Soviet War.  The battle resulted in the defeat of the Red Army with losses of 10,000 dead & 30,000 wounded.  The Poles lost 4500 dead & 22,000 wounded.  Polish independence was secured & a peace treaty with Russia negotiated.
