PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH DELIVERS 'AXIS OF EVIL' ADDRESS
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On January 29, 2002, President George W. Bush* gave his 3900 word State of the Union message at the Capitol here in Washington, D.C.
Five months following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, the President charged North Korea, Iran and Iraq with harboring, financing and aiding terrorists.
President Bush said...
"States like these, and their...allies, constitute an axis of evil, aiming to threaten the peace of the world."
The President added that these nations were developing weapons of mass destruction. He said the United States "under his watch" would fight terrorism and ensure national security.
The President concluded...
"Our war on terror is well begun...and in this great conflict, my fellow Americans, we will see freedom's victory."
