COOLIDGE TURNS TABLES ON STAR REPORTER
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On March 2, 1921, an attempt was made by an Evening Star reporter to interview Calvin Coolidge* but the Vice-President elect "put the proceedings into 'reverse' (by asking) the (reporter) about District affairs."
Mr. Coolidge showed particular interest in the issue of giving national representation to citizens of the District of Columbia and "in the fiscal relationship between Federal and District governments."
In regard to the former, the Vice-President elect said...
"It certainly is an anomalous** situation."
*John Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933) was born in Plymouth Notch, VT & educated at Amherst College. JCC served as Governor of Massachusetts 1919-1921, VPOTUS 1921-1923 & POTUS 1923-1929.
