"THOSE AGAINST A BIGGER NAVY ARE FOOLS"

THEODORE ROOSEVELT JR. ADVOCATES NEED FOR "BIGGER NAVY"

Camden, New Jersey (JFK+50) On March 22, 1921, Assistant Secretary of the Navy Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. characterized those opposed to a bigger United States Navy as "fools."

Mr. Roosevelt, addressing a luncheon held "in connection with the launching of the new U.S.S. Colorado*" said...

"We are facing a critical period of our history.  The average citizen is not aware of the dangers that confront America.

There are even those who are taking a stand against our navy and they are sincere pacifists.

There are those opposed to a bigger navy and they are fools."
