HARDING FIRST POTUS TO BE HEARD ON RADIO
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On June 14, 1922, Warren G. Harding became the first President of the United States to have his voice transmitted over the radio.
Mr. Harding spoke at the dedication of a memorial site for Francis Scott Key, author of the Star Spangled Banner.
History.com says...
"the broadcast heralded a revolutionary shift in how presidents address the American public" and adds that "the most rapid advancement in communication for presidents occurred in the 20th century."
