"ENGLAND MAY COUNT HERSELF LUCKY..."

SOLOMON'S TEMPLE WOULD COST 4 BILLION TO BUILD TODAY

London, U.K. (JFK+50)  On July 18, 1921, a lecture was given at Cambridge University by the Right Rev. T.E. Bird in which he said that Solomon's Temple* would cost $4,000,000,000 if built today.

The New York Tribune states...

"England may count herself lucky the Palestine mandate** was not awarded her in Biblical times." 

*Solomon's Temple, a.k.a. First Temple, was built in Jerusalem by order of King Solomon & completed in 957 BC.  The Temple was looted & then destroyed by King Nebuchadnezzar 586/587 BC.

**Palestine Mandate was a League of Nations mandate for the British administration of the territory of Palestine & Transjordan after WWI.
