HARDING SET TO STOP QUESTION OF WAR DEBTS FROM COMING UP AT ARMS LIMITATION CONFERENCE
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On October 4, 1921, President Warren G. Harding "took steps to prevent the question of the cancellation of Allied war debts to the United States from coming up at the November Conference on Limitation of Arms and Far Eastern questions."
According to the New York Tribune, the President plans to stop any effort on the part of Great Britain or France "to have the subject of debts settled or...seriously considered."
The President, the Tribune states, believes the debt questions can be settled better in other ways.
