GERMAN GOVERNMENT PLANS TO OPEN OFFICIAL MARRIAGE BUREAU
Berlin (JFK+50) On December 27, 1921, it was reported that the government of Germany plans to open an "official marriage bureau."
The bureau will offer marriage to qualified applicants "at the minimum cost and without running great risk."
A background check will be conducted on each applicant to determine "their moral character and physical condition."
The plan has been supported by both Catholic and Protestant churches.
