DEFENDANT SHOT & KILLED BY VICTIM IN TEXAS COURTROOM
Waco, Texas (JFK+50) On February 24, 1922, J.S. Grosslin, charged with criminally attacking Miss Marcine Matthews two years ago, was shot and killed by the young lady during retrial.
The 59 year old man had been tried and convicted of the crime but because the case was reversed on a trial error, he was being retried.
Miss Matthews was walking to the witness stand when she turned and fired three shots directly at Mr. Grosslin. The unfortunate defendant, who was seated next to his attorneys, was killed instantly.
After the shooting, Miss Matthews said...
"He disgraced me...ruined my health...but he will never ruin another girl."
