HARDING ON LAST LEG OF VACATION SAIL DOWN FLORIDA'S EAST COAST
Fort Pierce, Florida (JFK+50) On March 13, 1922, President Warren G. Harding and his traveling party left Fort Pierce* "after a round of golf" to continue his sail down Florida's east coast.
The President plans to leave Miami for St. Augustine by train"preparatory to leaving for Washington, D.C. on Friday."
The New York Tribune reports that the President will make "no speeches" during his vacation trip.
*Fort Pierce, Sunrise City, is part of Florida's 'Treasure Coast.' FP is named for B.K. Pierce, brother of President Franklin Pierce & was originally an army post (1838).
