MAN CLAIMING TO BE DIPLOMAT ARRESTED, FAILURE TO STOP ON SIGNAL OF TRAFFIC COP
New York City (JFK+50) On October 29, 1922, the Sunday Star reports the arrest the previous evening of Guillano Debustillo, and his wife. It took "three patrolmen and four civilians" to remove the man from his car.
Mr. Debustillo was charged with "failing to halt upon the signal of a traffic cop." Claiming to be the chancellor to the consul of Honduras, he said...
"I am the representative of a foreign country and I do not have to put up with traffic policemen."
