"NEIGHBORS LOOK ON WEDDING WITH INDIFFERENCE"

VEIL OF SECRECY SURROUNDING EX-KAISER'S LIFE BECOMES MORE IMPENETRABLE

Doorn, Holland (JFK+50) On October 22, 1922, the Evening Star reports "the veil of secrecy that has hidden the life of the ex-Kaiser*...becomes more impenetrable...as curiosity increases...due to his forthcoming marriage with the Princess of Reusha**."

The Star says ninety percent of the ex-Kaiser's "austere Calvinist" neighbors "look upon the approaching wedding with indifference" and "disapprove of William's choice of Sunday as the day for the wedding feast."

*Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor Albert (1859-1941) was born in Berlin & reigned as emperor of Germany 1888-1918.  He built up a powerful navy making Germany a world power, but was forced to abdicate due to losses on the Western Front in WWI.

**Hermine Reuss (1887-1947) was born in Greiz, Germany.  HR married ex-Kaiser Wilhelm after the death of her 1st husband.  Wilhelm was 63, HR was 34.
