PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN FAIRBANKS, BEGINS AUTO TRIP INTO THE INTERIOR
Fairbanks, Alaska Territory (JFK+50) On July 16, 1923, President Warren G. Harding "reached the northern end of steel rail transportation" and "proposed to go farther into the interior of Alaska by automobile."
The Evening Star reports the Presidential party, which includes the First Lady, will start their automobile journey from here in Fairbanks* and "travel ninety miles over Richardson trail to McCarty on the Tenana River." The trip is expected to take five hours.
The Presidential party arrived here in Fairbanks at 9 p.m. local time last evening although "the sun was shining and it never got dark."**

JFK+50 NOTE
My wife & I purchased a female Siberian Husky puppy in Orlando, Florida in 1975 while on vacation. We named her "Midnight Sun's Libra". She lived to be 13 years old & was such a sweetheart.
