"SPEED IN EYE MOVEMENT IS A WONDERFUL ASSET"

DR. OF OPTOMETRY SAYS SLOW EYE MOVEMENT CAUSE OF MANY AUTO CRASHES

Chicago, Illinois (JFK+50) On September 15, 1923, the Associated Press reports "slow eye movements are the cause of many automobile accidents."

The Evening Star states that this was the argument presented by Dr. W.B. Needles, president of the Northern Illinois College of Optometry*, in an address before the Chicago Optometrical Society.

The good doctor recommends "rhythmic movements of the eyes to exercise eye muscles."

Dr. Needles says...

"Speed in eye movements (is) a wonderful asset for a prizefighter, or ball player, as well as to the motorist."

*Illinois College of Optometry, founded in 1872, is the largest optometry college in the U.S.  ICO, located in Chicago, graduates 160 optometrists each year.
