COOLIDGE SAYS THE PEOPLE EXPECT BRANCHES OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ABIDE BY FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSES
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On March 9, 1924, The Sunday Star reports President Calvin Coolidge addressed the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents' Association* last evening.
The President indicated in his remarks to about 75 attendees, he believes strongly that the American people expect the three branches of the federal government "to abide by the fundamental purposes for which each was created."
The President said...
"I think the American people approve heartily of that kind of constitutional government and they want it maintained in its fundamentals."
