"PUT THEIR SHOULDERS TO BIG AUTOMOBILE BUS"

GOVERNORS HELP GET BUS BACK ON THE ROAD

Oklahoma City (JFK+50) On October 8, 1924, Governor Charles W. Bryan of Nebraska and Governor M.E. Trapp* of Oklahoma "put their shoulders to a big automobile bus in a driving rain and helped seven other men put it back on the road after it had been ditched."

The Associated Press reports Gov. Bryan, Democratic nominee for POTUS, was returning to Oklahoma City from making a speech in Shawnee.

*Martin Edwin Trapp (1877-1951) was born in Robinson, Kansas.  He became governor of Oklahoma after his predecessor was impeached and removed from office & served 1923-1927.
