102 YEAR OLD 'LITTLE' WOMAN TAKES 30 DAYS IN JAIL FOR ILLEGAL LIQUOR POSSESSION
San Pedro, California (JFK+50) On February 19, 1925, a 102 year old "little woman" was "hauled into police court" here in San Pedro* on a charge of illegal possession of liquor.
Mrs. S. Nuncey told the judge...
"I have been drinking liquor all my life and I don't intend to stop now."
The judge, apparently not in a sympathetic mood, gave the elderly lady a choice of a $100 fine or 30 days in jail.
AP says "she promptly chose the jail term."
*San Pedro is located in the South Bay & Harbor region of Los Angeles of which it became consolidated in 1909. SP is known for its port, culture and historic landmarks. It is home to the Battleship USS Iowa.
