TRINITY CHURCHYARD 'WITCH' DISCLOSED BY DIRECTOR OF ALIENS
New York City (JFK+50) On February 12, 1925, Associated Press reports that "a 'witch'...has been operating in New York for some time."
This 'witch' reportedly "lures immigrant girls into Trinity Churchyard...at midnight and...makes the tombstones move as proof of her uncanny power to find them American millionaires for husbands."
This phenomenon was disclosed today by the director of aliens of the State Department of Labor in the hope that "the fleecing of immigrants be stopped by publicity."

Trinity Church (Episcopalian) is located at 89 Broadway, opposite Wall Street, in the financial district of New York City. Trinity churchyard is one of 3 used by the parish. The church was the tallest building in the United States in 1869.
