"BUYERS HAVE NOT YET BEEN IDENTIFIED"

SALE OF DODGE BROTHERS CO. IS IMMINENT

Detroit, Michigan (JFK+50) On April 1, 1925, Associated Press reports "negotiations for the sale of Dodge Brothers, Inc. ... are now in progress" here in Detroit.  This was announced by A.C. Schwartz, local representative of Dillon-Reed and Company of New York.

The buyer or buyers have not yet been identified, but there are a number of rumors about.

AP states..."It has been...understood that the heirs of John F. and Horace E. Dodge*...have been desirous of disposing of their company holdings."

*John & Horace Dodge started the Evans & Dodge Bicycle Company in 1897 & partnered with Ford Motor Company in 1903.  The 1st Dodge vehicle was introduced in 1914 & by the following year Dodge ranked 3rd among U.S. auto companies.  J&HD died in the flu pandemic of 1920.
