CONVICTED KILLED HEARS FIFTH DEATH SENTENCE FROM JUDGE
Salt Lake City (JFK+50) Imagine hearing a judge sentence you to death, not once but five times. That happened to Ralph W. Seyboldt of Columbus, Ohio who was sentenced yesterday for killing a police officer.
Judge M. L. Ritchie "fixed the date" for his execution as January 15, 1926. Seyboldt was sentenced for the first time on April 5, 1924.
Associated Press reports that there had been "frequent appeals" which have delayed the execution. The last appeal was denied by the State Parole Board last week.
JFK+50 NOTE
Patrolman David H. Crowther's body was found near the Jordan River west of Salt Lake City on Oct 12 1923 & Seyboldt was arrested in California. He was given a choice of the method of execution, hanging or shooting. He always chose shooting.
