COOLIDGE ORDERS SURVEY OF CONDITIONS IN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS
Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) The Evening Star reports President Calvin Coolidge "has commissioned Col. Carmi A. Thompson* of Cleveland, Ohio to go to the Philippine Islands as a special commissioner."
The task of Col. Thompson will be to make a thorough survey of economic and all other internal conditions in the Philippines.
J. Russell Young says there is "intense interest" at this time in the Philippine Islands among members of Congress.
