TOO MANY DUCKS IN THE C&O CANAL
Great Falls Park, Maryland (JFK+50) On July 23, 1960, The Evening Star reports "there are too many white ducks" in the C & O Canal at Great Falls Park.
Hugo Habluetzel, maintenance chief, believes someone is leaving the ducks at the park "when he isn't looking."
Mr. Habluetzel said...
"I thought twenty or thirty ducks would be nice...but its getting out of hand."
The maintenance chief wants "to get rid of" about sixty of the one hundred ducks that are now in the park.

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park and Great Falls Visitor Center are located at 11710 MacArthur Blvd in Potomac, Maryland. The Canal stretches 184.5 miles from Georgetown to Cumberland, Maryland.
