VIRGINIA RATIFIES BILL OF RIGHTS

On December 15, 1791, the state of Virginia ratified the first 10 amendments to the United States Constitution.  

This action made the Bill of Rights law. 

 

December 15, 1864


The Battle of Nashville began on this date.

It continued the following day and resulted in a decisive Union victory which ended Rebel resistance in the state of Tennessee.


CSA General John B. Hood had hoped to cut USA General William T. Sherman's supply lines and eventually be able to threaten Cincinnati and other Northern cities.
