FEDERAL AGENTS DISCOVER 'SUPPOSED PIGGERY' IS A STILL
Kane, Pennsylvania (JFK+50) On March 19, 1922, The Evening Star reports that federal agents raiding "the supposed" piggery* owned by Andy Orzichowski which is located on the outskirts of Kane, Pennsylvania "found the place to be a well equipped distillery."
Instead of gathering city refuse for hog troughs, Mr. Orzichowski has been using it for the manufacture of illegal whisky.
The agents seized 50 gallons of garbage-distilled whisky along with almost 100 gallons of prepared mash. Agents reported most of the liquor was to be shipped to Pittsburgh.
*piggery is a place where swine are kept.
