"RAGGED, UNKEMPT & UNSHAVEN, OH MY!"

AMERICANS HAVE RESTAURANT FOOD SNATCHED BY COMMUNISTS IN BERLIN

Berlin, Germany (JFK+50) On November 20, 1922, the Evening Star reports that on the previous evening several American visitors here in Berlin had their food "snatched" while dining in a fashionable city restaurant.

The perpetrators are described by Star writer George Witte as "ragged, unkempt and unshaven communists."

Some of the female victims "became hysterical," while the communists managed to make their escape "before the police arrived."

Berlin police, expecting more trouble from these individuals, have set up 'a special plunders squad.'
