"ANOTHER FISHY STORY OUT OF NATION'S CAPITAL"

COOLIDGE OKAYS PLAN TO STOCK TIDAL BASIN WITH FISH

Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) On April 14, 1925, The Evening Star reports President Calvin Coolidge gave his approval today "to the plan to stock with fish the Tidal Basin*."

The Star recalls that as a boy Mr. Coolidge "did his fishing in the brook running through the meadows on his father's farm."

The President gave his endorsement to the Junior Achievement movement which originated in New England.

*Tidal Basin is located in Washington, D.C. at West Potomac Park near the National Mall.  TB is famous for its cherry blossoms & monuments.
