X-RAY PHOTO OF HUMAN HAND SENT OVER TELEPHONE WIRES
New York City (JFK+50) Associated Press reports on April 15, 1925, "an x-ray photograph of a human hand was transmitted by telephone wire from New York to Chicago in seven minutes today."
This is an experiment, AP says, "that will prove valuable in surgical work requiring prompt consideration of experts."
The photograph was sent from here in New York by the American Photo Supply Company to Chicago's Victor X-ray Corporation.
JFK+50 NOTE
Photos were transmitted over telephone wires using a process called "wire photo," scanning an image & converting it into electric signals that could be sent over the wires to a receive that reconstructed the image from those signals.
