"EDITORS WILL NOT OPPOSE EDICT"

POLICE BAN HARVARD MAGAZINE ISSUE FOR 'IMPROPER USE' OF FLAG & 'INDECENT PICTURE'

Cambridge, Massachusetts (JFK+50) On April 18, 1925, Associated Press reports that the editors of the Harvard Lampoon, a "college humorous magazine" will not oppose "the edict of the Cambridge and Boston police which withdraws the current issue of the "literary digest" from newsstand circulation."

This particular magazine issue was banned because of alleged improper use of the flag of the United States of America on the cover and "an indecent picture" within.
